Top 5 tech myths that people still believe

Technology is completely based on logic, but sometimes due to a common perception or maybe sometimes due to a way some marketing giants market a certain device that may create a myth amongst the buyers. The problem with these myths is that they spread like forest fire and it's difficult to break that myth.

I hope to break some Myths with this countdown and at the same time give you an interesting  article to read. Comment section is open  and comments would be highly appreciated.

5.More the pixel,better the camera

This myth commonly exist in among the smartphone buyers when they are very specific towards the camera and that has lead to helping the manufacturers in marketing their devices specifically focusing the Megapixels of the camera and not the various other technical features of a camera which are equally important in determining the quality of a camera.
Next time you buy a smartphone be informed about all the other technical specifications of the camera. Make sure the aperture of the camera is high as it will maintain the quality for background and foreground of the image.

4.Charge your battery only after it drains completely

Ok,so this myth is somewhat true, but does it apply to the technology we currently use?No.
The previously used Nickel - Metal Hydride(NiMH) and Nickel cadmium(NiCad) had something called as battery memory and due to that it would remember the power it consumed before being completely drained and would charge up to that point only.
The current Lithium ion batteries don't suffer from this problem and charging them from zero would in turn only harm them as they have limited number of charge cycles.

3. Better specs means better devices

People always tend to throw away their hard earned money on maximum storage or fastest processor.
This is where the big tech giants come in to pander to the false notion of requirement that exist in the buyers mind. Suppose you spend 30,000 rupees on buying a desktop with the best overall specification and you are not using it to edit videos or play high graphic games than it's may mostly prove to be a waste of your money.
The real message here is to avoid getting caught up in the game of latest and greatest and to focus on the requirements that you actually need.

2. Overcharging at night may lead to damaging your battery

digitaltrends.com

For the batteries that are used in the latest devices this theory doesn't hold true as the batteries charge only up to their maximum capacity and do not accept further charging.
The only real damage it can do is that it is a wastage of electricity overnight .No real damage is done to the battery.

1. It's bad for a computer to run warm

cnet.com

This myth actually doesn't hold true for modern processors as when the processors are performing at their maximum clockwork frequency it means that it is performing to its fullest capacity and it's a good thing.
The heating happens because the processor uses a material made of aluminium to dissipate heat.
