Samsung goes back to its roots with this Android Flip phone. Read to know the specifications and other details

Flip phones were one of the coolest technology back in the day but it seemed to have lost its charm in the last decade. Now with Samsung deciding to go back to its roots to revamp this phones with the current software standards this might be a step in the right direction for the future of flip phones.

Last year Samsung launched the W2017 flip phones exclusively for Chinese market,this year Samsung has come back with its successor SM-G9298 AKA leader-8.This phone comes with a better processor and optics as compared to the W2017.

 The specifications for the device are as follows

  1. 4.2 inch Full-HD (1080x1920) pixels Super AMOLED dual display(one on the inside and one on the outside).
  2. A quadcore snapdragon 821 processor with two cores cloacked at 2.15 GHz and 1.6GHz respectively.
  3. A 4GB RAM with a 64GB built-in storage which is expandable upto 256GB with a microSD card.
  4. 12 Megapixel rear camera with f aperture and 5 Megapixel front camera with f aperture.
  5. The connectivity options offered by the Samsung SM-G9298 include 4G connectivity, micro USB, USB 2.0, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, and GPS .
  6. The dimensions of the device are 130.2x62.6x15.9mm  and it weighs 235 grams.
  7. It comes with a 2300mAH battery which is expected to give a stand by time of 68 hours( almost 2.5 days!!!)
  8. The onboard sensors on the device are fingerprint sensor,barometer,accelerometer and gyroscope.

No official confirmation has come on the pricing of this device. We hope that Samsung decides to release this phone in markets that are similar to China like India or Brazil.The specifications offered are decent and are much better then the W2017.The success of this phone may lead seeds of foundation for all other mobile manufacturing companies to revamp this classic flip phones.
