Android Instant apps support now expanded to over 500 million devices.How to check if your device is eligible?

Google has now confirmed that it has expanded the support of instant apps to over 500 million devices in the world.Instant apps are basically a lighter version of the Apps which do not require installation.

Along with the launch confirmation,Google also confirmed that a lot of apps across various categories have started to come as an instant app.

According to Google's blog post,
 "We’re excited to announce that 500 million Android users now have access to instant apps across countries where Google Play operates. A number of Google Play apps and games businesses across a range of industries have already started building with instant apps,” .

Some bigger and renowned companies have decided to join the bandwagon of the instant apps.Vimeo is one of the biggest video streaming service that has joined the list of instant apps.According to claims Vimeo has seen a 130% increase in session duration courtesy of the instant apps.New york times crossword is also one such example which has seen drastic increase in its usability after the inclusion.

What are instant apps??

Instant apps basically allow the users to access Google play store from a web browser,social media or a deep link.The apps will have the ability to open then and there itself.
These apps are not actually meant to replace the original counterpart but act as a lighter or demo version to the original versions.
This can be a very good way for app developers to showcase their apps through these lighter demo versions.They are currently available with only Android 6.0 ,with work being done to make it compatible with the previous versions also.
Android o will bring the feature to the device and give the ability to users to search for the instant apps through their 
device's launcher.

How to use Instant apps??

• Navigate to your phone’s Settings menu.
• Scroll down and tap Google under the Personal category.
• Under the Services category, select Instant Apps.
• Tap the toggle on the top-right of the screen.
• Read through the instructions card (and Play Terms of Service, if you really want to), then tap Yes, I’m in.

This means you are half way through.

How to use them??

• On your Android device, perform a Google search for one of the supported applications listed above.
• Scroll down and select the app listing that includes the word Instant (as shown below).

                               
               PS: This is a great step for android to provide these apps(demo versions) without actually having to install the apps to the device.A really awesome feature to enjoy the clean UI of android without actually having to given in your device memory for that.A boon for low-end devices.
