Reliance jio to give free WiFi to students across India!!!!!
After the announcement of the free phone from Jio recently ,which you can read here if you don't know about it another news coming from Jio is the plan to give free WiFi to students across India.
According to a report posted in Hindustan Times Jio has expressed its interest in providing this service ,to the HRD ministry.
While the company is already leading in the telecom sector courtsey of their latest announcement now the company looks to connect about 38,000 colleges in India. These colleges will be both technical as well as non technical colleges in India. Its a win-win situation for both students and Jio as this decision will help Jio sustain its supremacy in the telecom sector.
Some top universities that are already considered to be benefited from this plan are Delhi university,Bihar Hindu University Central university of Himachal Pradesh etc.
The aim of providing this connection is to give all students equal access to the Internet for educational resources and to learn online courses through Swayam in the National Knowledge Network.
Even though Jio will provide these services for free the telecom sector decides to release an official tender for this to give other telecom sectors an equal chance and thus making the competition fair for them.
The project is most likely to be started by the 31st of August this year.
