Patanjali rolls out chat application for India as a part of the modern swadeshi movement

After recently partnering with state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) to launch Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards, Patanjalihas now announced its Kimbho text and video chat app. The Kimbho app is now available for free download on Google Play and will compete directly with WhatsApp.

Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala tweeted, "Now India will talk . After launching SIM cards, Baba Ramdev has launched a new messaging application called Kimbho. Now Whats App will be given competition.” Explaining name the “Kimbho”, Tijarawala tweeted in Hindi, “Kimbho in Sanskrit means What’s going on and what’s the news.”

The Kimbho chat app is claimed to be AES encrypted and supports ghost chatting and auto-deletion of messages. As far as file support is concerned, the Kimbho platform supports videos, photos, doodle, stickers, GIF among others. It can be seen as a complete WhatsApp competitor with location support as well. The app also support video chatting and interesting users can also draw doodles to share with their friends.

The Kimbho app had already bagged over 10 thousands users within just hours of its launch. As of now, it has received an average rating of 3.9-stars on Google Play. The app will occupy a meagre 23MB of storage. Like WhatsApp, it needs access to almost all device permissions like microphone, contacts, photos, videos, WiFi, device ID and others.

Besides all this it feels extremely pleasing to know that a company that markets itself as a very "nationalist" company identifies the power and capability of an "expanding" technology. With the amount of money that patanjali can put into this market specifically towards R&D,we can only expect to see great things coming in future

Talking about the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards, initially only the employees and office bearers of Patanjali will be able to avail the benefits of the SIM card. After its full-fledged launch, people will get discount of 10 per cent on Patanjali products with this card. One of the plans announced by Patanjali include, a recharge of Rs 144 that would offer unlimited calls across the country 2GB data per day and 100 SMS. Apart from this, subscribers will also get health, accidental and life insurance benefits.

PS: The power of internet is truly astounding as "we" have actually witnessed a meme turn into reality. What a time to live in!!!
